Summer With This Homemade Caliente Mango Sorbet

Ingredients:

One cup water

2/3 cup honey

1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

One red Fresno chili, halved lengthwise

About 4 cups frozen mango chunks

1/4 cup fresh lime juice

One cup fresh orange juice

Preparation:

  1. Combine honey, water, chili and salt in a medium size pan and bring it to a boil. Remove pan from the heat; cover it and let stand 15 to 20 minutes. Remove and discard chili.
  2. Transfer this mixture to a blender. Add mango and orange and lime juices; process until it smooth. Pour into the 2-quart electric ice cream maker and then freeze according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Transfer this sorbet into a freezer-safe container; cover and freeze until firm, about 2 to 3 hours.
