Delta “sorry” for booting family off a plane over seating mistake

The incident occurred on April 23, but footage of the ordeal was just posted to YouTube on May 3 by Brian Schear, the client who can be seen contending with a flight specialist amid an eight-minute trade.

At issue was a seat the man’s baby child was in. That seat was reserved under the name of Schear’s more seasoned child, who took a prior flight.

Schear can be heard in the video over and again saying that he paid for the seat in which his newborn child was sitting. He said it “isn’t right” that the aircraft was requesting that he surrender it.

He said he purchased his more established child a seat on an alternate flight so that his baby child could sit in an auto situate rather than his mom’s lap amid the overnight excursion. “He can’t sleep unless he’s in his car seat,” the father is heard saying.

Delta says the flight was not overbooked, but rather there were travelers holding up to fly standby, which is the reason they were attempting to make room on the flight. The episode happened on Delta Flight 2222, which is an overnight outing from Hawaii to Los Angeles.
